TOUR TOUR TOUR
Yes, you probably guessed it. After the release of our album in June we will be embarking on a massive tour of the UK. Dates to be announced very soooon. xxx
Uni Of Brum and Digbeth Photo Shoot.
As alumni of the University of Birmingham it was great to be back on campus last week. We visited the Uni Media department and the lads there are designing some live visuals/video art to go with our live set. This will be for our album release and tour over the summer. Its great to be able to collaborate with people whose expertise lies in another field. So much of art and the creative process is like this. No one exists in a vacuum.
We also had a photo shoot with Digbeth based photographer Steve Gerrard. It was a good experience and the photos look amazing. Esp the ones from our lock-up, Blotto where we share a room with Johnny Foreigner. All in all, a good week.
Next week, we’re off to London for an important meeting…
Videooo
In the process of designing in collaboration with some designers some awesome video footage to drift epically in the backdrop of our live set. SO far, after an afternoon an ideas, its all looking great! come and see us in June to see the end result!
I blog, therefore I am.
Is there anybody out there…? Praying someone feels the same. They call it stormy Mondays- are a slog at the best of times. Tuesdays are worse. Suicide Tuesdays. But by Wednesday, I just about recover my sense of meaning and self worth. Shake the pins and needles out of my hands and feet. As the week tilts towards weekend; by Friday I’m usually in love with life. Ever amazed at the cycles that life takes. We’re making several videos to our songs. Very excited about them all. And in a couple of weeks you’ll have a single from us also. bye for now x
British Grizzly Bear
After a gig a Scandinavian girl came over to me and said that she thought we were the British Grizzly Bear, as in, the amazing band from New York who reside in the brown houses of Brooklyn. This was a massive compliment as I love Grizzly Bear and have met a few of them in the crowd watching M83 a few years ago. They told us to come back to their cabin for a party. Cabin 5 if I recall. Some hours later myself and my interlocutor stumbled upon cabin 5 but, alas, our voices were as quiet and meaningless as wind through dry grass because; they were all in bed. ZZZzzzzzzzz while you wait for the others…indeed
Sometimes, there’s a man…
What makes a band exactly? well, four sets of testicles in our case. (this mis-quotation will not stand) I recently became aware and a fan of Dudeism on the web and I know that walter and the dude have steered me and the lads (the lads and I) through some pretty late nights after recording or going up the Glastonbury tor or to in and out burger or whatever else we get up to. Today I was back writing songs. Even though we’ve spent two years making an album (which is now finished) concurrently I’ve been steadily working on songs for the album to come. In between moving house and driving back up to Manchester (home). It just seems with me songwriting is a habit (good) I’ve not been able to shake. but it always gets a knotty discharge out of my neural pathways better than anything. its amazing that this instinct, such an intangible phenomenon is relied upon and trusted by all in the employ of metiers artistic. But that’s just like, my opinion man.
Moseley showcases
Hello. Hope everyone is having a good Monday. Today we are sorting out our massive summer showcase and album launch. It’ll be held in Moseley, Birmingham. Mainly because that’s where we live but also because it has such a good music heritage and it populated by artistic folk of all sort. The perfect place then, to unveil our album.
peace
Hello world!
Hello music fans and visitors to our page. This is the first blog for this website. You’ve caught us at a very busy and exciting time. We’re due to release our EP early March then our epic 70 minute album Rathea late into May. So far we’re busy preparing the artwork for both releases and listening through the masters we’ve just had back from Pete Maher at 140db. Booking a tour for the summer and starting our own record label are included in the jobs for today. Peace out. Danny x
